Woking Sign Smith As Robinson Re-joins

By Jacob Greenwood

Woking manager Garry Hill has brought back midfielder Matt Robinson on loan until the end of the season and has also captured the signing of ex-Fulham youth player Alex Smith.

Robinson returned to Kenilworth Road following Woking’s 2-1 victory over Aldershot Town but has re-joined on loan until the end of the season.  21-year-old Robinson found his form at Kingfield playing in central midfield and even found himself on the scoresheet in Woking’s 5-1 win at Gateshead.

The Cards have also signed 24-year-old Alex Smith. The ex-Fulham youth player, who can play in defence or midfield, made one senior appearance for West London side in the Premier League. Smith has since been at Swindon and most recently Yeovil town before being released at the end of last season.

Swedish striker signs for The Cards

By Jacob Greenwood

Woking have signed Swedish striker Samuel Aziz.

Aziz was released at the end of his contract with Swedish side Limhamn Bunkeflo and has signed for The Cards as a free agent.

The 22-year-old has been on the books of clubs including Helsingborgs and most recently Stoke City.

Aziz scored an impressive thirty-six goals in twenty-nine games for Helsingborgs under-21 side.

His agent Faizal Khan described the player’s abilities to Sky Sports:

“Samuel Aziz has been very well developed in Sweden and is a lad who fits many attacking formations and systems,”

Samuel already did well when on trial at Stoke City and has been on the radar of British clubs since he burst onto the scene as a teen at Helsingborg.

“He’s exceptionally quick with or without the football, a great first touch, tall and always knows where the goals are.

“Samuel Aziz in my eyes is the closest thing Swedish Football has to Theo Walcott and I personally back this lad to make a big impact in England in 2014.”

Bowerman signs for the Cards

Woking have signed ex-Walsall striker George Bowerman.

Bowerman joins frontmen Freddie Ladapo and Jordan Ivey-Ward who have both signed with Woking since the start of the season.

The 21-year-old has previously played for Walsall scoring 11 goals between 2010 and 2013 and had recently had a brief loan spell at Redditch United.

Bowerman recently played in a pre-season friendly for Forest Green Rovers against Cirencester Town and will go into the squad to face Welling on Saturday.
